Occupational Therapy

The purpose of the Occupational Therapist at Billing Brook is to work with children in the classroom, carry out 1:1 assessments relating to physical and sensory needs and devise interventions, which will support the children to maintain and extend their physical abilities in order to maximise access to learning, improve learning outcomes and develop independence.

Primarily their work is within the Autism Department as many, if not all of the pupils require a Sensory Profile.

Currently the position of Occupational Therapist is vacant and the academy is reliant on advice for the local NHfT.

NHfT therapists will liaise closely with parents and offer information sessions, guidance and advice.
