Billing Brook School

The Basic Skills Toolkit

Across the school  we use a number of  basic skills resources within lessons to meet the pupils individual learning needs.

Time is allocated in the literacy curriculum to support basic reading and handwriting skills as well as developing grammar and comprehension skills. Personalised learning sessions are in place for KS1-2 and pupils in the ASD department to support skill acquisition further. Time is also allocated in the numeracy curriculum to support basic number skills as well as support practical and real world application.
